FAQs

Should I bring my pet's food?

Yes, we do recommend that you bring your pet’s food, as a change in diet could result in an upset stomach. If you do not have your pet’s food or enough food to last the duration of the stay, we have bags of food for purchase. You may also bring treats for your pet, just let us know how often they are allowed!

Can I bring my pet’s bed, blanket, toys, etc.?

A small blanket or towel that smells of home is welcome; however, it will need to be labeled with the first and last name of your pet, we cannot guarantee the items will return home in the condition they were received. Large beds and items are not permitted due to laundering issues. Comfortable bedding and blankets will be provided.

When can my pet check in or check out?

Check In Times:

  • Monday – Friday 2:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Check Out Times:

  • Monday – Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9:am – 12:00pm

*Early check-in or late check out arrangements may be made and are subject to a $15 fee.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

We understand that plans can change, however Alpine has limited sleepover spaces and we want to ensure that we’re able to accommodate as many guests as possible. Reservations cancelled less than 14 days will be subject to a non-refundable deposit in the amount of the first night’s rate.

My pet has never boarded before, what happens if they show signs of extreme stress, aggression or other behavior concerns?

Sometimes in new surroundings, pets can behave differently than their owners might expect. We want our guests to be comfortable and have a pleasant stay, however there are some circumstances that may put your pet or our team’s safety at risk. In the event that our team feels that your pet is not a good candidate for sleepovers, we will contact you or your emergency contact to make alternate arrangements for the remainder of their vacation.

We would be happy to arrange a pre-boarding daycare visit to see how your pet does. This stay would last a few hours during regular business hours (not overnight) and it should allow us to be able to determine if your pet will be comfortable staying with us or if we recommend alternate arrangements. The cost for this is $20 and all standard boarding requirements would need to be met prior. We recommend this is done more than 14 before boarding stay to ensure depsoit is fully refunded.

Why is there a 16-week age requirement?

Puppies and kittens do not have full immune protection until they have completed all vaccine boosters. For pets still in this process, we would recommend pet care options like in home pet sitting or private pet care.

Why do you have so many health requirements?

As a veterinary hospital, our priority is to keep well pets well and help sick pets get better. These health requirements help us to do that.

How will I know how my pet is doing?

Upon check in, you can provide the best way for us to contact you and how you would like to receive updates regarding your pet.

What's a normal day like when my pet is there?

Our team says good morning to our guests and start their day with a potty break and some good morning pets and smooches. We tidy up their sleep space and replenish water and food (and provide meds as needed). After some rest so their food can digest, we start another round of potty breaks and playtimes and/or trail walks (if selected). Then there’s afternoon quiet time which can mean naps, treat balls, or chew toys. Then dinner is served, nighttime meds are administered, and there’s another round of potty breaks. Once the guests are all tucked in for the night, we turn on the soothing sounds of nature so they can dream peacefully.

What if my pet becomes sick during their stay?

Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our patients and sleepover guests. Should any of our team members notice any medical concerns, it will be brought to the attention of our medical staff and evaluated by a veterinarian. We will contact you immediately with an assessment, recommendation, and estimate of treatment costs. If you are unable to be reached, we will reach out to your emergency contact listed. If we are unable to contact anyone, we will treat as deemed appropriate by our veterinarian and additional charges will apply.

Where does my dog go to the bathroom?

It may seem like an odd question, but it gets asked a lot. Our canine guests are provided potty breaks multiple times per day outside in our fenced yard or grassy areas in rain or shine!

Should a guest go to the bathroom inside, our team will clean up and replace any bedding or soiled items right away. Cleanliness is extremely important to us.
